Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Counting LLC ("Counting AI," "Counting," "we," "us" or "our") collects, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how to contact us. It covers the website at counting.ai and the Counting AI app on Meta platforms, including Facebook Login and Meta APIs.

Counting AI is a brand of Counting LLC, a company based in Sunnyvale, California. We provide custom AI and data engineering to job boards, staffing and recruiting firms, recruiting software companies and other businesses in the United States and the European Union. We work with data our clients own or license, in their own cloud environments. We are not an employment agency, job board or recruiter, and we do not make hiring decisions.

The public website does not ask you to create an account. We work with companies. Please do not send us resumes, job applications or candidate data unless we have agreed to that in writing. We are glad to sign a non-disclosure agreement before a confidential discussion.

Information we collect

Information you send us. If you email us, we receive whatever you include, such as your name, email address, organization and the contents of your message. There is no form on the website.

Website operation. counting.ai is hosted by Vercel. Vercel Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without collecting your name, email address or a profile of you. Your browser also loads typefaces from Google Fonts. That request goes to Google, which may process your IP address in order to deliver the font files. We do not use advertising cookies.

Client data we process for a customer. When a company hires us, we connect to data that company already holds, and only with its authorization. That data can include resumes and profiles, job posts, applications and outcomes, search and click activity, screening calls and video, and recruiter feedback. It stays in the client's cloud, in the region where that data lives, including the European Union when that is where it is stored. We read it only with authorization, write results back to the client's environment, and do not train models on it. Access is limited by encryption with the client's keys, private networking, single sign-on, role-based access and audit logs.

Information from Meta

Visiting counting.ai does not send us your Facebook profile. We receive information from Meta (Facebook) only if you use Facebook Login with Counting AI, or if you or a client authorize Counting AI through a Meta API.

We never receive your Facebook password. We receive only the information covered by the permissions you approve on Meta's consent screen. Depending on those permissions, that can include:

  • your Facebook user ID;
  • your name;
  • your profile picture;
  • your email address;
  • any other profile or account fields shown on that consent screen and included in a permission you grant.

We use this information to recognize you, to provide the feature you connected, to keep that connection secure, and to find your data if you ask us to delete it. We do not sell information received from Meta. We do not use it to train models, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with data brokers.

How we use information

We use personal information for these purposes:

  • to reply to your email and to discuss a possible engagement;
  • to run and protect the website, including cookieless page-view counts;
  • to provide the AI and data services a client has hired us for, inside that client's environment;
  • to authenticate you and operate a feature you connected with Meta;
  • to respond to requests for access, correction or deletion;
  • to meet a legal obligation.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only in these cases:

  • Service providers that host the website or deliver email for us, and only so they can do that work. The website is hosted by Vercel.
  • Google, when your browser requests font files from Google Fonts.
  • Meta, when you use Facebook Login or a Meta API. Your browser and our app communicate with Meta so the login or API call can complete. Meta's own policy describes what Meta does with that interaction. We do not send our contact lists or client resumes to Meta for advertising.
  • A client, for data that client already owns and asked us to process in its own environment. We do not give a client information we received about you from Meta unless you authorized that specific sharing.
  • Authorities or advisors when the law requires it, or when it is necessary to protect the rights, safety or security of Counting, our clients or other people.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it, and then we delete it.

  • Emails you send us are kept while we are corresponding and for up to 24 months after the last message, so we have a record of the conversation. We delete them sooner if you ask, unless we must keep them longer to meet a legal duty or an active contract.
  • Information we receive from Meta is kept while we need it to provide the feature you used. We delete it within 30 days after you ask us to delete it, and within 30 days after we no longer need it for that feature.
  • Page-view analytics do not include your name or email address, so there is no personal profile for us to retain.
  • Client resumes, job posts and related activity stay in the client's environment. We delete copies we control when the client asks, when the engagement ends, or when you ask and we actually hold a copy. We do not keep client resumes to build a database of our own.

Deletion and your choices

You can ask us to delete, correct or provide a copy of personal information we hold about you, including information obtained from Meta. The steps are on the data deletion instructions. Email contact@counting.ai. You do not need an account on this website, and you do not need to log in.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or California, you can use the same address to exercise the access, correction and deletion rights those laws provide. We will not treat you differently for asking. If we process a record only on a client's instructions, inside that client's cloud, and we do not hold a copy, we will say so and tell you which company to contact.

You can remove Counting AI in your Facebook settings (Settings and privacy, then Apps and websites, or the equivalent Meta screen). Removing the app stops Meta from sharing new data with us. It does not, by itself, delete data we already stored. To delete that data, follow the data deletion instructions.
